Building the future
The Challenge
This project involved comprehensive excavation work to support the development of a state-of-the-art brewery and accompanying retail/tap room for one of Nova Scotia’s leading craft breweries. The scope of work included:
-
Removal of Unsuitable Material: Excavation began with the identification and removal of unsuitable subsoil to ensure a stable foundation, adhering to geotechnical recommendations.
-
Dewatering Operations: Groundwater conditions required effective dewatering solutions to maintain dry and stable excavation zones, enabling safe and efficient construction progress.
- Foundation Excavation: Precision excavation was carried out to support structural foundations for both the brewery facility and retail/tap room, including load-bearing footings and slab preparation.
-
Underground Services Installation: Extensive interior underground infrastructure was installed to meet the specialized operational requirements of a modern brewery. This included trenching and installation of water, wastewater, drainage, process piping, and utility connections tailored to brewing and sanitation needs.
This complex excavation project laid the groundwork for a high-performance brewing facility designed to serve both operational efficiency and customer experience in a modern retail and taproom setting.
